About

I have been creating artwork (painting, drawing, collage, and even designing clothes) since age 4

My paintings are characterized by an intense and extraordinary use of color using acrylic and mixed media. My art is a blending of traditional art training, education, travel, personal experiences and personality.

My greatest influences in art is  Pablo Picasso  for his cubism, bold paints and the French Impressionists like Pierre- August Renoir,  Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet  ,Vincent Van Gogh and Mary Cassatt and the Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt.

My artistic style varies from bold abstract paintings to more figurative sketches and drawings. I frequently will include fabric, feathers and even jewelry pieces in my paintings to generate excitement with the unexpected.

I am open and available for private commissions and suggestions!

I am a very impassioned painter, who is not afraid to expose and share her spirituality, emotions, thoughts and feelings. My blazing use of colors, thick textures, reflects my positive attitude and joie de vivre

I have a BA from The George Washington University in Liberal and Fine Arts, A masters in Recreational Therapy from North Eastern University, and I attended graduate courses in painting, drawing and sculpture at The Boston Museum School. I have had a “one woman show” at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Boston and other art galleries

I opened, owned, and directed my first and only art gallery “La Mermaid Galerie D’Art “ at 323 Worth Avenue, Palm Beach Florida  from 1996-1999.   During this time period I show exhibited, promoted and sold many of my original paintings in the United States and Europe.

I had private commissions for Frank Sinatra, and a few other illustrious celebrities. I donated my artwork to many charitable organizations including The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, The March of Dimes, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and many others.

I am currently residing in Los Angeles, where I write for the Santa Monica Observer  Newspaper in Arts & Entertainment.

I published my “second edition” of my adult coloring book Color Me Now! 1.23 The Beautiful Pin-Up Girls of the 1940’s-1950’s by Rachel Ganz on Amazon.

My second edition has 10 more pages that includes beautiful Black, Asian and Bi-Racial woman.  My book is a lively coloring book that captures an era that is past but should not be forgotten is a tribute to my Mother, your other or grandmother and to all Mothers past or present

I have shown my paintings in numerous galleries throughout   the United States including Washington DC, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.

I was represented by ACCA Gallery, 1546 N. Highland Ave, Hollywood CA, where I had a one woman art show and fundraiser for City of Hope.

ACCA Gallery & City of Hope “Present Rachel Ganz” Egyptian Deities, & Pop Culture Icons on June1-15, 2019 with a VIP Preview on June 1 7-10 PM with celebrity presenter actress Anna Kulinova. This was very successful, and 15% of all sales of my art was donated to City of Hope, Los Angeles.  Unfortunately the ACCA Gallery lost their lease during the Pandemic.

During the pandemic, while everyone was binging on Netflix, I taught myself how to create and design original Tibetan Style Gemstone Jewelry and produced over 300 pieces of  earrings , double wrap  and triple wrap bracelets, stretch bracelets and necklaces using 100% all natural pearls and gemstones with 14& 18K gold filled charms imported from  all over the world.

I have two celebrities Paris Hilton and Actress Voila Davis who happily own a few of my gemstone jewelry pieces.

I have and will continue to donate my original paintings, prints and gemstone jewelry pieces to numerous charity fundraising galas in the Los Angeles area.

When I first moved to Los Angeles over 20 years ago, I could not help but notice the many huge  L.A billboards of the mysterious blond “Angeline” . Her self-promotion worked, as she became famous for being famous, traveling worldwide to every talk show.

Perhaps someday beautiful images of my paintings, sketches and jewelry will grace a huge billboard in Los Angeles and catch your attention and desire as you drive by
